Gordon Murray is a sole practitioner CPA providing corporate finance advisory, management and financial accounting, and controller outsourcing services to the forest and bioenergy industries. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant and a Registered Professional Forester.
After graduating from the University of British Columbia in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science in Forestry, Gordon spent the first ten years of his career working in woods operations for Crown Zellerbach, Whonnock Industries (now Interfor), and Westar Timber.
Beginning in 1992, Gordon became self-employed, operating several businesses over the next ten years: Cambium Forest Management provided forestry services; Nova Geomatics provided geographic information systems consulting; and FSJ All Nations Forest Corporation operated a sawmill, a whole log chipper, and a forest licence.
Since 2002, Gordon has been a sole practitioner specializing in business planning; capital raising; advising on the purchase and sale of companies; and management and financial accounting. Gordon has acted as controller for Zavisha Sawmills Ltd. since 2004 and as executive director of the Wood Pellet Association of Canada since 2009.
